On Monday the entire base traveled from Pichilemu to Santiago for the 30yr anniversary for JUCUM (ywam) Chile. It was a great time of celebration for everyone especially those who pioneered to start the first bases. I met new people and learned more words in Spanish. The weather was much warmer and was a nice change. So glad to be back in Pichilemu in my room, or as we call it “home”. I am very excited about getting a CD with all the songs that are used for worship here in Pichilemu. I am told that all the songs are in Spanish and many are translated into English, so this will help a lot with learning words. On our 3 hour bus ride home I ended up sitting in the very back. This took me away from my fellow classmates who speak fluent English. In the back were three guys, two are taking their DTS and one is in my school. The DTS student is from Brazil as is the guy in my school. The DTS student all week has been speaking to me in three languages in one sentence. English, Spanish, and Portuguese all mixed together it has been extremely funny. Today he was trying to say “my friend is a clown” only clown sounded more like clow. The other guys asked him what he was saying so it was translated from Portuguese to Spanish. Then after many hand motions I guessed the word. Much of the trip turned into a game of charades. We had so much fun pronouncing words in the other person’s language and trying to understand what the other person was saying. I have learned that they have trouble with pronouncing the difference between B and P. For example Beach sounds like Peach.
May you have a wonderful day, God Bless
