Nueva Escuela

We have started a new Discipleship Training School (DTS) here in Pichilemu Chile with 29 students and 11 children. This school is a little unique as we have three married couples with children and a single mom. I have not done an official count to find out how many nations we have represented in this school but I know its a lot and will probably count them in the next few days. For example in my room of 6 we represent United States, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru and two from girls from Chile. It has been fun being such a south American multi cultural group. The only girls that are not from south American are Ashley and I both staff. Having a Latin group has shown me already some of my western habits that I did not realize I had. A very basic one is when we leave the house for meals in the dinning hall. If I am not ready to leave yet I don't ask for people to wait for me and if they ask me if I want them to wait I say no go ahead. Culturally they wait for each other it is seen as normal and not thought about at all where for me I would rather people not have to wait because I would want to wait either. I am recognizing my areas of Independence. I thought I was becoming more Latin American and perhaps I am but I still have a long way to go. Well this has been fun, but that's all for now I'll write again soon.
