New Plans
Camilo and I at the beach in Pichilemu“God may my plans be your plans and if my plans are not your plans please change them.”
So why this statement? Well this just happens to be a prayer that I have been praying for a long time. God has given me a wonderful gift of planning things and it is something that I enjoy a lot, but my concern has always been that I would plan my own life and ignore the spontaneous things that he wants to do. In reality its not that they are spontaneous its just that “His thoughts are not my thoughts, neither are His ways my ways” (Isa 55:8). As many of you know my plan was to come home in march, but Gods plan for me I have found is different. He has been preparing me for this next step by improving my Spanish and giving me wonderful people to practice with. Little by little God has been planting a burning passion and desire to study the Bible in depth. During a class while I was staffing God spoke to me about doing the 9 month bible school here in Pchilemu which was a scary idea because the classes are only in Spanish . I accepted this knowing it was from Gods heart and the best way for me to grow in my trust and faith in him, however I decided that I would take the school in 2013 giving me plenty of time to practice Spanish, take some Spanish classes, and work to save money for school. God has been speaking to me for a long time about taking the school this march 2012 and not waiting. Last June he started by telling me that I would not be going home to save money for the school, however at that time I did not recognize that He wanted me to do the school so soon. As I was reading my bible during outreach I did not want to have to wait longer in order to study in depth and be able to ask lots of questions. The last months have been literally a struggle and fight with God as I have come to accept his timing and allow him to conquer the many fears that I have. He has spoken so clearly to me that this march is my time to spend getting to know his character on an even deeper level than before. I don't want to be like a little child frustrated trying to put a puzzle together that I clearly need someone else to teach me how to piece together. So I am happy to announce that I will be applying for the Biblical studies school this March 2012 until December 2012 in Pichilemu Chile.
A couple fun facts the school in Spanish is called Escuela de Estudios BĂblicos and the acronym is EEB which is the same as my initials. This means I wont be able to use my initials to label things that belong to me or people will think that it belongs to the school. The other fun fact is that Camilo also will be taking the school with me, so we will have the opportunity to share what God is teaching each one of us and grow in our relationship with God being the center.
