Once again I blog later than I had hoped. I never did get a chance to blog about Art for the Nations the weekly outreach that I helped lead during school. It is a non profit organization run by a woman named Lisa. She has a small shop in Denver that allows people to get involved with share the love of Jesus through arts and crafts. A room is set up to paint bags and then fill them with the needed supplies, paper, glue, glitter, and more. Her goal is to equip mission teams with supplies that they can leave behind with the children that they meet in other counties. Lisa has an amazing heart for others and provides a unique opportunity for many to go beyond language barriers and connect on a personal level with children all over the world. I had this unique opportunity in 2007 when I went to India and watched as a small school of ten students light up as they saw things like paper crayons and glitter. Then in Nepal I became friends with a young girl Kabita in a orphanage as we both drew each others names. This ministry has blessed my heart and the hearts of many others young and old. If you would like to know more you can take a look at the website http://artforthenations.org/ . It has pictures and stories as well as ways to help and how to contact Lisa if you would like to recive these bags to take with you on a missions trip. Enjoy
